SLH began four years ago with a collection of room sprays, candles, diffusers, and wax melts — simple creations that brought calm and comfort into everyday spaces.

Life asked me to pause, and in that stillness came healing — both physical and emotional. After major surgery and the challenges of surgical menopause, I found myself facing both physical healing and the mental struggle that came with it.

In that stillness, I turned back to nature — to the plants and oils that had always felt grounding. That’s where the first Kawakawa First Aid Salve was born, a small act of care that helped me heal. That small jar became the beginning of SLH’s story — a blend of care, nature, and renewal.

From there, I began to explore skincare more deeply, blending kawakawa, calendula, and plantain into soothing balms and creams. Each new creation — from the Original Repair Balm to the gentle oils and creams that followed — became part of a journey of recovery, creativity, and quiet strength.

Today, SLH stands for more than handmade products. It’s about intention, comfort, and the beauty of slowing down. Every balm, cream, oil, and home fragrance is crafted in small batches here in Taranaki, using pure botanicals and thoughtful blends that reflect care, honesty, and the gentle luxury of handmade creation.
